Kim Taipale is a founding partner of Parkview TMB, a technology focused merchant banking firm, and the founder and executive director of the Stilwell Center, a private, non-partisan research and advisory organization focused on information, technology, and national security policy.

Taipale is also a senior fellow at the World Policy Institute and serves on the Markle Task Force on National Security in the Information Age. He has served on the board or advisory board of several companies and non-profit organizations.

Before founding the Center, Taipale was a senior fellow at Columbia University. Prior thereto, he was an investment banker at Lazard Frères & Company, a corporate executive at The Pullman Company, and, earlier, a lawyer at Davis Polk & Wardwell.

Taipale is a frequent invited speaker, has appeared before Congressional and other national committees, and is the author of numerous academic papers, journal articles, and book chapters on information, technology, and national security issues.

Taipale received his B.A. from New York University and his J.D. from the New York University School of Law. He also received his M.A. and his Ed.M. from Columbia University and his LL.M. from the Columbia Law School.
