Marketing Director, Consumer Strategies, GE Healthcare

David Rowe is responsible for providing overall business strategic and market direction for GE Healthcare IT’s patient product and service portfolio, including product roadmaps, product positioning, messaging, pricing, channel and partner management.

Between 2000 and 2002, Rowe led WebMD’s consumer strategy and product development efforts in the hospital, health plan and employer markets. Between 2003 and 2007, he led commercial and product marketing efforts for WebMD’s Health Services Division, which became a market leader in population health management services for health plans and large employers. In that role, he was responsible for primary and secondary market research, value propositions, brand management, and demand generation. In 2005, Rowe started the Consumer Engagement Services unit and led the team responsible for consumer engagement with WebMD’s online lifestyle and behavior change programs. In this role he oversaw consumer research, profile-driven messaging, and customer advisory services. Prior to WebMD, Rowe served in senior executive capacities with a number of leading print and electronic publishing companies, including MEDIAmerica and Harcourt Brace Jovanovich.

He is currently an adjunct instructor at the Oregon Health & Sciences University, School of Medicine, where he is developing a new course in Healthcare IT for OHSU’s Healthcare MBA.
